How do I stop telemarketers from calling my home land line phone, not my cell phone?

Providencia Serpe: I have the perfect answer (I'm so happy!)Go to https://www.donotcall.gov/I can prove it will work, becuase you can tell by the extension, .gov. Only the government can register websites ending in .gov. This is the government's Do Not Call Registry, and they say that most telemarketers should not call you after you register. BE SURE to bookmark this site, because even though it's free to register your number, it only lasts for five years. Then you need to go on the site and register your number again. Also, if a few telemarketers still call you, be sure to tell them to please take you off of their calling lists.Hope that helps....Show more

Robt Heemstra: add # to no call list in the states you feel (or know via caller id) are originating.

Miguel Densley: First, sign up for the state and national "Do Not Call" list. Do a search and it will pull up.Second, when the telemarketers call, tell them that you are on the Do Not Call list and they owe! you $500.

Filiberto Amauty: If you live in California there is a no call list, i think there is a national list as well. For the ones who get through after that I just set the phone down and let them talk and talk until they realize I am not there and hang up.

Voncile Slaubaugh: https://www.donotcall.gov/

Lu Snide: To get your land line on the national registry to stop telemarketers from calling go to https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspxIt worked for us!!

Kara Tabian: the first thing you gotta do is...sign up for a the no calling lists...you can do that in one day...all will take about 3 month till everyone get the message....then...when they call, tell them to take you of there calling list...and they usually will...because of the new law...I have keep track of all the numbers...if they called more then 3 times...there is a 500 dollar penalty...when they call and you regonize the number, tell them "this is a recorded line" ( you must do this unde! r the law) if you can proof that there are still bothering yo! u...tell them that you know the law and you will sue...you will never hear from them again...I see you have already the link, but here is another one everyone forgets..http://www.anywho.com/help/index.htmlthis takes you out of the online telephone book......Show more

Clark Lachowski: sign up for the do not call lists...i was a telemarketer (i quit cuz i kept on arguing with people-i hated the job) and i remember we were basically told that if the person says do not call we had to put a sign beside the number and not call back (and the company of whoever we had a contract keeps a record of it) so never just say "its a bad time" just say "i dont do telemarketing surveys.."

Lyman Gauld: u can tell them that u want to "unsubscribe" from their offers and not to call again. if they even call,u can contact ur telephone operator and can tell the operator to restrict those calls.

Manie Labat: go to www.donotcall.gov and register on the the do not call registry. It ! takes about 6 weeks for the government to the direct marketers association , but it works. hope this helped.
