Cruise Weddings? Have you been to one?

Stan Conley: Your guests should never have to pay for anything. If you want a cruise wedding, then you pay for all of it. Maybe not the airfare to get to the initial port, since some would have had to pay for airfare to attend your wedding anyway, but if I had the money I would cover airfare too. If you can't afford to cover the costs of your guests, then you need to pick a different theme. I'm sure they have wedding packages and/or group packages. If you can secure enough RSVP's then maybe the cruise line will give you a break in the costs. I also always will say that cruises are not the best form of vacation. while they are cheap, nearly ALL the cruise lines in the US are headquartered elsewhere. They do this to avoid US labor laws, and treat their help poorly. They also are notorious for pollution. There are maybe 2 cruise lines that actually headquarter in the US, and they don't do international cruises, I believe. (like to the bahamas.) You may just want to do a regu! lar ceremony and then maybe have a reception on a sunset cruise or lake cruise depending on your location....Show more

Delmer Pectol: i was to one recently. many guest came aboard for the ceremony and then left the ship. others like me stayed on for the entire 4 day cruise to the Bahamas. it was costly but nice.

Gwenda Micheals: You will have a set number of guests that may come on-board the ship for the ceremony and reception, then they leave before the boat departs. How many is up to the cruise line and the package you choose. I know Celebrity has a limit of 150 non-sailing guests. A guest may book the cruise and stay on-board, of course.

Vita Moodie: I agree with all of the above posters. The good and the bad! My fiance and I are also looking at a cruise wedding as an option. We've found that it's actually really doable to have your ceremony and reception on the ship before it even sails. This is a brilliant, money saving idea.Getting married quietl! y at sea, with just a few loved ones around you can be intimat! e and special. The smaller guest list will allow you to stretch your budget further and go all out, celebrating in luxury and style. Cruise weddings have another advantage as they can be a honeymoon and wedding all in one or alternately, a one way cruise can be your ticket to the Caribbean or the Pacific Islands. The choice is yours.http://weddingwishes.co/cruise-weddings/...Show more

Caroyln Ebach: I does sound like a lot of money and not everybody would be able to free up that much time. Maybe they could all be stowaways, or maybe have a cruise wedding on a tramp steamer (if they don't mind swabbing the decks, painting, etc)

Morris Cuomo: Personally I believe you should pay a big portion for each of your guests if you want to do this. It's not fair to all the guests who have to pay so much money just to attend your wedding. If you do this, maybe plan on having a small wedding with only family and very close friends. That's what I would do. By the way congr! atulations.

Mandy Mustaro: each and every cruise deliver i have been on has offered the marriage ingredient. so that you want to easily do a touch study to work out the alterations in each and each and every cruise line thus far as what you and the female locate interesting.

Noah Deni: You can start by picking an inexpensive cruise. If you travel on the shoulder seasons, cruises can be really inexpensive. I have been on 4 day cruises for less than $150 per person before. The downside to a cruise is that you essentially have to pick how much time your guests will have to travel for. On one hand longer cruises visit more destinations and tend to be more fun. On the other hand not everyone can leave work for 5+ days for a cruise. When you have a regular destination wedding in the Caribbean, your guests can leave work Friday evening, fly in for the wedding, and be back home Sunday night. That is a lot harder to do on a cruise....Show more
