Tijuana Tatsak: A lot of the imitation meats that vegetarians eat (foods that are meant to resemble real meats) are made with the intention of providing protein and other nutrients that vegetarians may be missing out on, and in doing so, they can sometimes provide MORE than what the real food does.I'm a vegetarian myself, bu! t my parents are not. Charis Deguzman: Go buy "The China Study" by T. Colin Campbell. He has a very useful chart comparing equal portions of mixed vegetables against animal fat and protein. It breaks down what amount of nutrients and minerals each source provides. Interestingly, the vegetables have more of everything except protein. BUT, the vegetables have just a few grams less of protein. This is not taking into account tofu, tvp, tsp or fortified foods (this is strictly vegetables). Plus, this book is a good read....Show more
