Spraying your teeth in the shower as good as flossing?

answers 0:I let the shower water spray my teeth. I have the removable showerhead that I can take down and spray directly in my mouth. The water is pretty powerful. Is this as good as flossing?answers 1:Wow - I can't add anything to Kent's answer, but just wanted to say he's very intelligent - obviously in the field!answers 2:wouldn't the water spray get between my teeth?answers 3:No. Floss after you brush, it only takes a few seconds, and it can save you ALOT of hassle in the future, like gum disease.answers 4:Quite definitely not!I performed some research on a similar thing a number of years ago. There is a dental product called a water-pik which shoots a small powerful jet of water around the teeth. I stained the teeth beforehand with a plaque stain and then used the water pik very thoroughly. Wh! en finished, it appeared all of the stained material had been removed. I then re stained the teeth and behold! there was still plaque remaining. It had knocked some of the surface off, but there was still lots of plaque remaining. As for being as good as flossing, it cannot even come close. Flossing physically disrupts the bacterial plaque (actually an organized colony of bacteria, mucins and other stuff) By disrupting it, it can be removed by swishing or pulsing. The shower just does not cut it for cleaning teeth, but it does a reasonable job of cleaning the outside of your body....answers 5:NOT AT ALL.answers 6:No.answers 7:No, just floss...it's doesnt take too long.answers 8:No it's not. Flossing gets anything up under your gums if you do it right.answers 9:I don't thik so b/c floss actually gets betwteen your teethanswers 10:Kent has the best answer. In addition I would worry about injuring myself by shoving the shower head in my mouth.
