What does landscape orientation mean in a lab notebook?

Gregory Dilg: Chemists typically use lab notebooks that can withstand lots of wear. (Yes, we chemists are vigorous in what we do!) Get one with carbon copies so you can turn in a copy to your GSI/TA/whateveryoucallthem. They can cost upwards of ten dollars but last for a while.

Antonette Shappy: My attempted diagram of this isn't turning out well given the format involved, but hopefully you can still figure it out. The lines are supposed to be the edges of the page, and the backslashes () are the bound edge. The column names should obviously start farther over, after the row names for "Part 1", etc., but my diagram doesn't want to do that. Basically, the normal orientation of a page is called "portrait", and turning it on its side is called "landscape". Let's see how this works out:\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\| | P! roc. Observ. Concl. Bal.
