SM Entertainment 2013 global auditions?

Raleigh Lufkin: SM is trying to pick an ideal figure that will appeal to the Korean mass public. That seems to include being Asian, tall, skinny, pale, etc.Your being told this because being tall can have it's advantages as an idol. You'll look more graceful doing moves (like SNSD's Genie) and you could easily be an idol who models. It also could make you a prime candidate for a "filler" in the group. (No offense to your talent!) If they need someone to round out a group full of dancers and singers, you wouldn't need to be as talented. For your friend, it will depend on exactly /how/ talented she is. If she's as good as Park JiMin, looks won't matter (though they might make her slim down before debut like JiMin.) However, the entertainment business is a shallow business so the talent must completely outshine her looks to make them see past the outside....Show more

Edwina Fu: This is going to sound harsh, but if your friend isn't pretty, or more importantly doesn! 't show any potential to be pretty and thin, her chances of being accepted by any Korean entertainment company are slim ...unless her talent is exceptional. If she doesn't have Asian [Korean/Chinese/Taiwanese] somewhere in her, then she probably won't have a chance at all. Again, unless her talent is extreeeeemely exceptional. If you Google "what are my chances of getting into ___ entertainment?" a lot of these will show up and they'll probably be more informative than this....Show more
